The main public hazards generated by textile machinery in use include noise, dust, toxic and harmful gases, and wastewater containing harmful substances. There are two reasons: equipment factors and process factors. Noise is a mechanical vibration wave carried by air. Most workshops in a textile factory, especially the weaving workshop, have high mechanical noise.
Measures that can be taken in textile machinery include lining the inner wall of the casing with sound-absorbing materials, replacing chain and gear drives with flexible toothed belts, improving the accuracy and dynamic balance of moving parts, and installing shock absorbing gaskets between high-speed parts and the frame. However, some noise elimination measures also bring negative factors, such as inconvenience in operation and maintenance after installing a noise protective cover. Creative improvement in mechanical design is a fundamental measure to reduce noise. For example, the noise of shuttleless looms (see weaving) is approaching environmental requirements.
